Aaron Kernaghan has appeared as legal counsel in the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, the NSW Supreme Court, District Court and Local Court and is renown for his approach and the strength of his in-court advocacy.
Aaron been representing clients throughout New South Wales and the Eastern Coast of Australia since 2000 with outstanding results. He was admitted as a legal practitioner in 2000 and has practiced as a solicitor and barrister at law since.
Aaron's background in litigation and performing arts disciplines has provided him with the unusual insight of how to manage increasingly complex advising, liabilities and litigation in the arts sector in Australia, particularly where stars cross with the criminal justice system.

Aaron studied law at the University of Wollongong under former District Court Judge Jack Goldring, during which time he was an active member of the Law Students' Society and regular competition mooter (finalist on more than one occasion!). Aaron was the recipient of the University Scholarship for Professional Legal Practice in 2001.
Aaron has taught law at the University of Wollongong, provided coaching and mentoring to countless junior lawyers and is one of the few solicitor advocates to have conducted jury trials in NSW (with an unmatched success ratio).

Aaron is a member of the Law Society of NSW, the Law Institute of Victoria (those two states peak professional body for legal practitioners) and the European Criminal Bar Association. He practices as a member of the Professional Standards Scheme of NSW operated by the Law Society of NSW.
